The honey experience at Mandarina, Mexico: A taste of nature’s sweetness

At Mandarina, hospitality blossoms hand in hand with nature through a honey experience as special as the landscape that inspires it. This is more than honey; it is the result of thoughtful, respectful care, 100% natural, locally produced, and harvested with dedication from our very own beehives.

Every drop captures the essence of our surroundings and reflects a genuine commitment to the land we call home. Beyond delighting the palate, our honey is part of an authentic farm-to-table journey that creates connection, inspires discovery, and leaves a warm, lasting impression on every stay.

An exclusive, locally harvested delicacy

Mandarina’s commitment to sustainability and quality is reflected in the meticulous production of our multiflora honey. Each year, between 400 and 500 kilograms of honey are carefully harvested from our hives, which are home to a thriving population of bees.

Currently, the hives are populated by 10,000 to 20,000 bees per panel, and with the full capacity of our apiary, we could have between 50,000 and 100,000 bees. That’s over a million bees working in harmony to create this exquisite, pure honey.

The honey is multiflora, which means it’s sourced from a diverse range of flowers growing in the abundant landscape of Mandarina. The unique flavors of our honey are a direct reflection of the diverse flora found in our region, from the tropical flowers to the rich vegetation that surrounds our property.

The freshness of honey at your breakfast table

When you wake up in the morning at Mandarina, you are not only greeted by the serene beauty of our resort but also by a delightful breakfast experience that showcases the true essence of our land. Fresh, 100% natural honey, harvested just before sunrise, is served at breakfast every morning. The honey, with its rich, golden color and delicate flavor, is a perfect addition to your meal, complementing fresh fruits, artisanal breads, and local delicacies.

Guests at Rosewood and One and Only Mandarina are treated to this honey experience, which is delivered fresh daily to the resort’s dining venues. Each of Mandarina’s hotels receives the honey produced within its grounds, ensuring that the flavors you taste are as local and fresh as possible. During the month of February, each hotel receives a special delivery of 175 kilos of this honey, highlighting the abundance and quality of Mandarina’s production.

A truly sustainable experience

Mandarina’s honey is a product of nature’s perfection, harvested using sustainable methods that protect and enhance the environment. Our apiaries are carefully managed to ensure the health and productivity of the bee colonies. The bees play a vital role in pollinating the diverse flora that thrives across Mandarina, making the honey not only a delicious treat but also a symbol of the region’s natural wealth and biodiversity.

The honey is more than just a food product; it represents a deep connection to the land and the ethos of Mandarina. By consuming this honey, you are participating in an experience that supports sustainable agriculture, local biodiversity, and the health of the surrounding environment.
